Ruban Arumugam has been named the Pakatan Harapan candidate for Paloh in the 16th Johor State Election, one of 56 seats the coalition is contesting across the state.
Ruban Arumugam stands as the the Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate within the Pakatan Harapan coalition, which is chaired by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The coalition brings together PKR, DAP and Amanah in a unified slate fielded across all 56 Johor state constituencies.
As one of 56 seats up for grabs, Paloh represents another front in Pakatan Harapan's effort to win a governing majority in Johor under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Representing the Democratic Action Party, Ruban Arumugam carries DAP's message of multiracial, transparent and development-focused governance into the Paloh contest. DAP is fielding candidates in 17 of Pakatan Harapan's 56 Johor seats.
Pakatan Harapan's selection process for the Johor election was rigorous, with the coalition evaluating more than 1,000 potential candidates before finalising its 56 names. The slate blends established leaders, professionals and fresh faces, reflecting the coalition's bid to present a credible, governing-ready team to Johor voters.
As the July 11 polling day approaches, Ruban Arumugam joins Pakatan Harapan's statewide push to win Johor. Early voting takes place on July 7, with nominations confirmed on June 27.
