A Malaysian activist completed the opening 50-kilometre stage of a 290km solo run aimed at drawing parliamentary attention to the welfare of three elephants housed at a Japanese zoo. Despite sustaining a knee injury, Neow Choo Seong pressed on toward Parliament before the legislature convenes.
